A mandrel is the link between your machine and the accessory you want to drive. By mounting the disc, brush or point on the mandrel you clamp the accessory centrically and securely, so it runs without wobble. That is essential when grinding, cutting, deburring and polishing with straight grinders, drills and multitools.
The choice depends on the bore size of the accessory and the shank size that fits your machine, with a common point of around 6 mm and smaller or larger versions alongside. A good mandrel holds the accessory firmly and allows quick changes.
