Hook spanners for round nuts, collars and bearing rings

A hook spanner engages the slot or notch in a round nut, which is the only safe way to tighten or release bearing lock nuts, collars and threaded rings without chewing the edges. Capacity is quoted as a diameter range, and the ranges here step from 35 mm up to 180 mm, so match the tool to the nut rather than reaching for the nearest size.

Articulated designs carry a hinged jaw that adapts across a span, which cuts the number of tools in the bag when you service assemblies with several nut sizes. Fixed designs concentrate the load on one diameter and hold their setting better under real torque, so they are worth having for repeat work on a single machine.
