Professional axes for woodworking, splitting and forestry
An axe built for professional use needs the right head weight, handle length and edge geometry to match the task at hand. This range of 20 axes covers kitchen axes for general hewing, splitting axes for firewood and forestry axes in French and Canadian head models for timber work.
Handle lengths run from 360 mm for one-handed kindling work up to 900 mm for full-swing splitting. Bahco supplies the largest selection with 15 models including kitchen axes with bent ash handles, fibreglass-handled versions with blade guards and heavy skin axes in the Canadian pattern for forestry applications. Head weights span from 800 g for light trimming to 3 kg for heavy felling and splitting.
Gedore contributes three forged axes designed for industrial and maintenance workshop use. DeWalt offers two steel-handled axes with fibre grips optimised for demolition and jobsite clearing. Handle materials include traditional bent ash for shock absorption, fibreglass for weather resistance and full steel construction for maximum durability.
