Individual Bosch router bits for wood with 6, 8 or 12 mm shank

Individual Bosch router bits for profiling edges, cutting rebates and grooves and finishing edges in wood.

First choose the shank that fits the collet of your router. Most bits have an 8 mm shank; there are also versions with 6 mm for light routers and 12 mm for heavy routers and deep work. A thicker shank vibrates less with large cutters.

The job then decides the shape. A straight (finger) cutter cuts grooves and recesses, with diameters from 10 to 30 mm. An edge cutter finishes edges and trims overhanging veneer or laminate flush. Chamfer cutters bevel edges, rounding profile cutters give an edge a radius, and groove saws cut narrow slots. Check the cutting length and overall length listed for each bit: they decide how deep you get in one pass. An HSS router bit for plasterboard serves those working in interior finishing.
