Dust extraction units for hammer drills and breakers

Dust extraction on a hammer drill or breaker captures silica at the bit, before it reaches the air and the lungs, and it is the practical route to compliance where extraction is written into the method statement. A dedicated unit clamps to the machine, tracks the bit through its full depth, and drops debris into an onboard canister or feeds a hose back to an extractor. Match three things before buying: the tool it mounts to, the maximum bit diameter it will accept, and the hole depth it can follow.

Most units are sold for one machine family, so a mounting that fits one hammer will not carry over to another. Power supply is part of that match: many units run on the same 18V battery platform as the hammer itself, which avoids a second supply and a hose run back to the extractor. Bit diameters covered here run from roughly 16 mm up to 32 mm. Filter class decides how much of the fine fraction is actually held rather than blown back out.

Where extraction is not required, a plain attachment or a mounting aid piece is the simpler fit.
