Brake tools: piston pushers, spreaders and brake bleeders

Brake tools cover the operations that come back on every brake service and that ordinary spanner work will not do: pushing brake pistons back, opening a caliper and bleeding the system without drawing air into the line. Two groups shape the range.

Piston pushers and spreaders press the piston squarely back into the caliper, and versions supplied with spring plates also handle the wound-back pistons on a rear axle with a parking brake function. Pneumatic versions take that force over, so the piston travels back evenly instead of tilting in the bore. Brake bleeders put the brake fluid under pressure and work in a range up to 4 bar, in analogue or digital form and with a reservoir from around one and a half litres up to ten.

Choose on the connection to the brake fluid reservoir, on the pressure the vehicle specifies and on whether the job has to be possible for one technician working alone.
