Gasket cutters and punches for gaskets cut to size

A gasket cutter cuts a round gasket to exact size out of sheet material, so a flange that falls outside a standard size still seals. You set the centre point, set the radius and swing the cutter round. The result is a clean edge without the ragged fibres that weaken a seal.

Turnus supplies the adjustable cutters, with cutting diameters running from around 200 to 800 mm. Choose the range on the largest flange you work with and not on the average one, because a cutter that is too small forces you back to shears and a knife. Watch the thickness and the hardness of the gasket material as well, since board, cork rubber and fibre sheet each demand a sharp blade and timely replacement of it.

Punches from Facom do the complementary job. With those you knock the bolt holes into the same gasket, in fixed sizes matched to the bolt diameter and the hole spacing of the flange. A set of stepped sizes is more practical than loose punches, because on maintenance work you rarely know in advance which flange you will meet. Both belong with the various cutting tools for maintenance and assembly.
