Hot air guns with variable temperature and airflow

A hot air gun delivers a controlled stream of heat for stripping paint, shrinking sleeving, softening adhesive, thawing pipework and forming plastic sheet, all without a naked flame. Temperature control separates the range: two-stage models suit rough stripping and thawing, while electronically regulated models hold a set temperature and matter wherever the material has a narrow window, such as heat-shrink over a cable joint or welding thermoplastic sheet.

Airflow control is the second variable, since high volume speeds up a large surface but lifts dust and disturbs light components. Power draw runs from 1600 W up to 2300 W; more power means quicker recovery when the nozzle is held close to a heat sink such as a metal frame. Nozzles decide the outcome as much as the tool itself: reflector nozzles wrap heat around a pipe, glass-protection nozzles shield a frame, and reduction nozzles concentrate heat on a joint.

Where a workpiece needs contact heat instead, an induction heater or a heating plate is the better tool.
