Makita corded angle grinders, orbital sanders, belt sanders and cut-off grinders

Makita corded angle grinders and sanders are the mains-powered machines for grinding and cutting metal and stone and for sanding wood and board smooth. The category runs from angle grinders and slot grinders to orbital sanders, palm sanders and belt sanders.

With an angle grinder, choose the disc size first. A 125 mm grinder is handy for cutting and deburring, a 230 mm grinder reaches deeper into thick stone and tube. Look at safety features such as restart protection, which stops the machine starting by itself after a power cut, and at the spoon switch. For chasing walls and cutting profiles there is a 150 mm slot grinder, diamond saws and a 355 mm cut-off grinder.

In sanding, the surface determines which machine fits. An orbital sander of 125 mm or 150 mm removes material quickly while leaving a fine finish, a palm sander gets into corners, and a 100 x 610 mm belt sander takes off a lot of material on large areas.
