Research
Research at Mitutoyo takes place in Japan, Europe, and the U.S. For Europe, this is done at the Mitutoyo Research Center Europe B.V. (RCE), which specializes in dimensional metrology, exploring possibilities in nanometrology and nanotechnology. The RCE develops suitable calibration systems for CMMs and other Mitutoyo instruments and standards, which are then implemented in Mitutoyo's factories. The design and improvement of various equipment are carried out in consultation with both internal and external Mitutoyo staff. Examples of products developed by RCE include software correction systems for CMMs, calibration and control systems for CMMs, and the most accurate step gage setup, with five already installed worldwide.

Impressive Growth
The story of Mitutoyo began in 1934 in Japan with the development and production of a mechanical outside micrometer. Today, Mitutoyo has departments and representatives for the sale, service, development, and manufacturing of its measuring equipment in more than 80 countries worldwide. In Japan alone, there are 12 specialized Mitutoyo factories. Mitutoyo has become a reliable and favored brand not only in Japan but all over the world, including in Belgium, where its sales and service center is located in Kruibeke.
