Lifting clamps for sheet metal without drilling or slings

A plate clamp grips a steel sheet directly, so a load can be lifted without drilling, slings or eye bolts. That saves preparation time on sheet metal moving from the stack to the machine or to the assembly point, and it leaves no holes behind in the material.

The version follows from the lifting direction. A vertical clamp holds the sheet upright and is meant for transferring and turning. A horizontal clamp is used in pairs to lift sheets lying flat. A universal clamp covers both working methods. Non-marking versions have jaws that do not damage the surface, which counts on stainless steel, coated sheet and visible parts.

Three points decide the choice: the working load, the jaw capacity that has to match the sheet thickness, and the permitted hardness of the material. Standard clamps are matched to common structural steel, while separate versions exist for harder sheet. A clamp used outside its jaw capacity will not grip reliably. REMA supplies the range. For lifting where the load is not attached with a clamp, round slings and load hooks are the usual choice.
