Storz couplings for quick, secure hose connections
A storz coupling connects hoses quickly and without a thread direction through a symmetrical claw coupling that you lock with a quarter turn. Because both halves are identical, you join two hoses, or a hose to an outlet, without worrying about male or female fittings, which saves time under pressure and when switching fast. You find this coupling above all in firefighting, fire water and temporary water drainage, where a reliable, quickly laid connection counts.
When choosing, look at the nominal size and the material: a version with a sealing ring closes leak-free, even at higher pressure. An extension pipe or fixed lug helps you place the coupling firmly and stably. Check the seals regularly for wear, because a worn ring lets water through under pressure and costs flow. Keep spare gaskets to hand so you fix a leaking connection straight away.
With the right storz couplings you build a hose system that you connect, disconnect and reuse quickly, without tools on location.
