Tee fittings and reducing tees for branch connections

A tee fitting makes a right angle branch in a line, so one supply feeds two take-off points without breaking into the line elsewhere. In the push-in version you simply push the tube into the fitting. The collet grips, the seal closes, no tools are involved, and you release it by pressing in the release ring. That turns a rebuild or an extension into minutes of work instead of half a day.

Choose on tube diameter. The range here runs from 4 to 22 mm, with 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm covering most set-ups. If the branch runs to a thinner or a thicker tube, take a reducing tee rather than putting an adapter behind a straight tee, because fewer joints means fewer leak paths.

Before fitting, check that the tube is cut square and free of burrs, because an angled cut is the best known cause of leaks on push-in fittings. SMC and Metabo supply the range. For a bend instead of a branch use an elbow fitting, and the full range of instant links follows on.
