Wire end ferrules for screw and spring terminals

A wire end ferrule keeps a stranded conductor together inside a screw or spring terminal. Without one the outer strands splay under the clamp, contact area drops and the joint heats up. With one the conductor enters as a solid pin and the terminal torque holds where you set it, which is what a tester expects to see on any panel that gets inspected.

Plastic-collar types are the working default for control and instrumentation wiring: the collar is colour-coded by conductor cross-section, so you can read the size from across the cabinet and reach for the right crimp die without measuring. Twin sleeves take a pair of conductors into a single terminal, which is how you loop a supply through a row of devices without doubling up under one screw.

Cross-sections here span 0.75 to 25 mm², with barrel lengths chosen to match terminal depth. Ferrules belong to the broader connecting material group; where a screw terminal takes a ferrule, a bolted busbar takes a cable lug.
