Back padding made of PE foam for achieving the correct joint depth-to-width ratio
Advantages:
Backfilling for joints between building materials
Available in various diameters, from Ø 6 to 50 mm
Prevents three-point sealant adhesion
Water-resistant
Applicable in places with high water and/or mechanical loads
Areas of application:
Zwaluw Backfill should be used in construction and expansion joints to achieve correct joint dimensions and prevent three-point adhesion of the sealant.
Ensure that the width of the joint is in accordance with the movement capacity of used Zwaluw sealant. How to calculate a correct joint dimension can be read on our website or by contacting us for correct advice.
Joint depth can be calculated using the following formula: Joint depth = (Joint width, divided by 3) + 6.
Make sure that the diameter of the PU Zwaluw Backfill is 50% larger than the width of the joint between the two substrates. If the joint is 20 mm, the diameter of the Zwaluw Backfill should be Ø30 mm. For PE Zwaluw Backfill, the diameter should be 25% larger than the width of the joint.
