Product description

OK 53.05 is a double-coated basic low-hydrogen electrode for welding unalloyed and fine-grained steels. The electrode combines the good welding properties of a rutile electrode with the excellent mechanical properties of a basic electrode. The double coating creates a deep crater, which ensures a stable welding arc and provides extra protection for the molten pool, making the electrode particularly suitable for root passes, pipe welding and position welding.

  • Double-coated basic low-hydrogen electrode
  • Classification AWS A5.1 E7016 / EN ISO 2560-A E 42 4 B 22 H10
  • Excellent welding properties and good mechanical properties
  • Deep crater for a stable welding arc and extra protection of the molten pool
  • Particularly suitable for root passes, pipe welding and positional welding
  • High radiographic quality of the weld
  • Suitable for DC (+/-) welding
  • Available in VacPac packaging for optimum protection against moisture

OK 53.05 is used for structural steel, boiler plate, shipbuilding and pipework where a reliable welded joint with good toughness and a low hydrogen content is required.
