Sanding paper, discs and wheels for sanding, polishing and deburring

Abrasives and grinding wheels for sanding, polishing, sharpening and deburring surfaces, used by painters, joiners, body shops and metalworkers. The choice comes down to three things: the grit, the format that fits your machine and the material you are working on.

With sanding paper, start from the machine. Round discs of 125 or 150 mm and rectangular strips such as 80 x 133 mm must match the pad, with a hole pattern that lines up with the dust extraction. Then choose the grit: P40 and P80 for coarse removal and stripping old layers, P120 and P150 for intermediate sanding, P180 to P240 for the fine finish before lacquer or oil. Compare the abrasive lines per brand too, such as Granat or Rubin 2, because each line is matched to its own substrate such as wood, lacquer or metal. Sanding rolls tear off to length for hand sanding and sanding blocks.

For metal, stone and concrete there are grinding wheels and diamond wheels for angle grinders. Brands include Pferd, Bosch, Norton, Metabo, Makita, Festool, 3M and more. This category belongs to surface treatment, next to planer blades and SDS chisels for removing rougher material.
