Shelves for workshop cabinets and racking

A shelf tray is the load-bearing plate that the contents of a cabinet or a rack rest on. It sets how much weight a compartment takes and how finely you can divide the storage, and it is the part you order again as soon as a cabinet needs a different layout. Start with the size. A shelf has to fit the existing frame, so width, depth and the height of the upstand are fixed per cabinet series.

Then comes the version. A solid metal shelf carries heavy loads and is easy to keep clean, while a perforated shelf lets you hang hooks, trays and plastic bins so small parts stay where they belong. A reversible shelf has a usable face on both sides and therefore lasts longer. Dividers turn one compartment into several, which cuts the time spent hunting for a part.
