The 3M Hookit Soft disc is made of durable 12.7 mm low-density foam. We have designed our deformable discs for use with a standard or Clean Sanding Hookit Support Disc, to allow the operator to work closer to most edges, and maximise dust extraction.
Use the 3M Hookit Soft Disc with a standard Hookit Backing Disc to work efficiently close to edges. This reduces edge grinding when the disc tilts on the edge and maintains better contact with the edge. Our discs are made of 12.7 mm low-density foam and have a 3M Clean Sanding hole pattern. They make Clean Sanding support pads* deformable, allowing the operator to properly follow contours and work closer to edges, while maximising dust extraction. These soft interface sanding pads offer more cushioning and deformability than a medium-density foam pad. The series of uniquely designed holes and channels allow dust to be sucked away from the sanding surface through the holes. This improves the working environment and extends the life of the disc. Our Clean Sanding dust management system offers better dust extraction from the working surface than products with five or six holes. The system is optimised using a sander with self-generated dust extraction* with a Clean Sanding dust bag*. Our Clean Sanding products are designed to suck dust away from the workpiece and out of the air. This minimises disc clogging and makes the sanding disc last longer. When there is less dust in the air, it has a positive effect on working conditions. 3M Clean Sanding abrasives can be combined with Clean Sanding sanding pads for use with a sander suitable for central extraction. *Sold separately
