Product description
The SPAX hardware screw is specially designed to take higher loads than a conventional 4 mm screw, while the head is only 8 mm in diameter. Depending on the design of the door or door fitting and the use of the screws, this can reduce the number of screws required. This saves time during installation and reduces the amount of material required.
The characteristic SPAX T-STAR plus drive is a star-shaped socket. This shape increases the contact surface of our T-STAR plus and the T-STAR plus bits therefore fit perfectly into the screw head. The best possible power transfer from the screwdriver to the screw thanks to T-STAR plus makes it possible to work quickly and much more efficiently than with any other drive.
The countersunk head (or flat countersunk head) is flush with the surface. Thanks to the full thread, the screw provides maximum grip and prevents material displacement; unlike partial threads, the full thread extends the full length of the screw. The more thread a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transferred from the screw to the wood.
4CUT stands for the square shape of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibres during screwing and create space for the core of the screw. The expansion pressure exerted by the core in the wood is thus reduced and splitting of the wood, close to the edge is prevented. The torque of the cordless screwdriver is also lower because the core of the screw does not have to "squeeze" into the wood.
With WIROX, SPAX has developed a coating that is far superior to galvanised screws in terms of corrosion protection. No chrome(VI) is used with WIROX, the screws are just as resilient even after years in outdoor applications not directly exposed to the weather, and are also environmentally friendly. WIROX screws are the first choice for all open structures without direct weather exposure, such as carports or pergolas.
The SPAX hardware screw also meets SKH requirements, making it particularly suitable for the installation of door hinges and hardware. Its greater load-bearing capacity and versatile application possibilities make it the ideal choice for heavy wood joints.
